Above &Beyond - מעל ומעבר // 26 בינואר
ב"מעל ומעבר Above&Beyond" תכונות המאפיינות את חיי היומיום הדיגיטליים כמו אקראיות, מהירות ומיידיות, הופכות לשפה בימתית סוריאליסטית בהשראת קולנוע מד"ב משנות ה-60 ותרבות הטראש של שני העשורים האחרונים. אנו ממסגרים נושאים אלה במבנה של ניסוי מדעי. שתי דמויות עוטות מסתורין נמצאות על הבמה: מדען ומושא הניסוי, שאינו אדם ואינו יצור דיגיטלי / מכני / וירטואלי. תוך פנייה לאלמנטים של מחול עכשווי ופרפורמנס ושימוש במכונה אלקטרונית תוצרת בית, המתח בין שתי הדמויות והמכונה מעלה שאלות על התלות שלנו בטכנולוגיה ועל מאפיינים של ה"אדם" כיום. אנו "מתכנתים מחדש" את הגוף. המחקר שלנו עוסק בניסיון ל"שדרוג" מיומנויות הדורשות ריבוי משימות (multitasking) והצבת השאלה המתמדת - "איפה נמצאת תשומת הלב שלי?". אנו עושים שימוש בגוף המותש כדימוי המתייחס לפער שבין הדברים שעלינו לעקוב אחריהם בחיי היום-יום של תקופתנו, לעומת מסוגלות הגוף והתודעה שלנו להתמודד.

Based on attributes of everyday digital life like randomness, speed and that which is instantaneous, 'Above&Beyond' defined a surreal stage language which is Inspired by 60s sci-fi cinema and hipster culture of the last two decades. Two enigmatic characters are on stage: a scientist and the subject of experimentation, which is neither a human nor a digital/mechanic/virtual being. Using elements from contemporary dance-theater, performance-art, and a home-made electronic machine, the tension between the two characters and the machine is posing questions about our dependence on technology and the characteristics of a human being nowadays. In 'Above&Beyond' we “reprogram” the body. Our research involved “upgrading” our multitasking skills and challenging our attention through difficult endurance tasks. We observed the image of the exhausted body as a metaphor referring to the gap between the things we have to keep track of in the contemporary everyday life, and what our bodies and consciousness are actually designed to handle.
